supervisor-less / china gip farewell

The handling of apparatus is getting easier. Thanks Mel for the encouraging posts on my wall, lol.

Then someone reminded me how it is published to all my friends. Eerie! Maybe facebook ain't that fantastic afterall.

Anyway today no one supervise me do experiment! Cock-up a few steps but it was easily "settled" with my quick wit. Hahaha not to forget a bit of gan-jiong-ing was involved.

I kinda like working with my supervisor. He is so cute some times when he gets shy around this PhD student. Hehehe and I love observing people (:


Then there was the farewell dinner for SY and SY, combine power of 2 design project groups. May the 2 of them stay healthy in China and SY don't poison SY.

Seriously, how klutz can a person be. Suppose to prepare 3 samples experiment, in the end there was like FIVE?! Purely because this kuku-head added the wrong substance once and spilled another.

Despite deliberated efforts to be cautious, my hands will shake. In the end not all the chemicals end up where they should be. Lucky my ambition was never to be a doctor.

Yes, beware of me. No, it should be "BEWARE OF ME".

First week of attachment: Got to know several new faces at work. The fellow interns. A fun bunch they are. Probably the number of us staying in the PC room is gonna drop over the weeks as the workload comes in.

On the way out of work, a fellow intern introduced another student working there too. A Scholar. Younger than me. Intellectually incline. Probably 10x more mature than me. Though he also looks 10 years older.

He knew about "Doppler Effect" despite holding only an 'A' level cert. (I'm pretty sure JC never teach that topic) and I studied it in uni before but I only have fuzzy impression of the name only.

He said it's because he reads a lot.

Talking to him made me feel like THE junior. He probably had a lot more interest in what he is doing than me. He is aiming Cornell for a degree and I bet a phD after that. An upcoming talent for the nation.

hello 2009 !

Uh-uh! Not abandoning this blog- Just been busy with the twilight saga` What with x'mas, new year and all.

Days get better each day. Then comes a new year! May everyone stay blissfully happy every day this year too!

Sometimes I wonder why am I so much like my mum (in terms of character that is). Though I totally wouldn't mind to inherit half of her looks too.

And am upset with the new blogskin too. Not fantastic at all. No no no. About time to do something to it. Contemplating a change in blog address too. Soon soon.

Probably put some pictures up too. In time to come, that is.
